Lost and found

You who mattered 
While finding my own feet
A shoulder to rest upon 
My mental note sticking out 
Of someone I adored
Not to be forgotten 

You who mattered 
In the midst of my teens 
First love to my heart 
A truly open experience 
Of one's own inhibitions 
When the time was not right

You who mattered 
After the fairy tale didn't last
You caught me by surprise 
An escape plan I hatched 
To only learn it was not worth it 
You now own a piece of me 

You who mattered 
Swept in with a great storm 
A Dark mysterious rebel
Was it love at first sight?
You lingered in my system 
A very fatal attraction

You who mattered 
Was there waiting quietly 
I wished I had noticed sooner 
My heart needed much healing 
You were the antidote
And now my ending
