Insecurity

Lying on my bed
Day dreaming away
My thoughts in the clouds
Got lyrics floating around
I've been told frequently
You are so pretty

Why can't I say thank you
Let the words do the rest

But, insecurity weighs me down

In a minute I am dizzy
Falling back looking up
Stretching out my hand
Reaching for the brightest star
Perhaps it can illuminate me
You are so gorgeous

Why can't I say thank you
Let the words do the rest

But, insecurity drowns me out

You tell me time and again
I will probably walk away
Not believing in myself
Looking in the mirror
Hoping to find some truth
You are so beautiful

From the heart
Char
