Teen spirit

I too was a child
Looking up for guidance
Not everyone that walks by
Can be a role model
I have to learn to choose wisely

I'm just a girl
I'm just a boy
Trying to find my own way

I never said I wanted a hero
A loving parent will do
Someone to hold me close
And take away the burdens
Someone to listen to my rants

I'm just a girl
I'm just a boy
Trying to find my own way

I can be moody, witty and stubborn
At the best of awkward times
The list is endless
Not always knowing
What's going on inside my head

I'm just a girl
I'm just a boy
Trying to find my own way

Growing up has its challenges
The media my biggest judgment
Fixed routines give me stability
Friends make the hurt much softer
Home is where I should be

From the heart
Char
