To walk through

I'm just an ordinary person
Filled with hopes and dreams
Like many of my own heart
Its more than one conversation
With so many possibilities
Sit with me over a cup of tea
I'll share my story

There is a door open
Yet I've still got one foot
Stuck on the other side
It should be easy
To walk through
For what lies ahead

But somehow letting go
Is my biggest challenge
I should leave my troubles
At the foot of the door
God will take care of me

Ambition driving me crazy
Fear of dissapointing you
Cos I'm always going to
Require your approval
I'm built to compete that way
To clear my conscious
And forget all the pressures

There is a door open
Yet I've still got one foot
Stuck on the other side
It should be easy
To walk through
For what lies ahead

But somehow letting go
Is my biggest obstacle
I should leave my worries
At the foot of the door
God will take care of me

The midas touch I had
Not always golden
A little weakness creeping in
I too get overwhelmed
And exhaustion sets in
Day to day chores
Seemingly take over

There is a door open
Yet I've still got one foot
Stuck on the other side
It should be easy
To walk through
For what lies ahead

But somehow letting go
Is my biggest flaw
I should leave my burdens
At the foot of the door
God will take care of it

From the heart
Char
