Connect

I am touched by your words
Filled with wisdom
These lullabies I listen to
Hit home in my centre core
For a brief time I share the same

I have learned to connect
With the simple things
Life throws our way

I love so deeply that at times
I am the one who hurts the most
Perhaps I should ask less
We are not all destined 
To a fairytale story

I have learned to connect
With the simple things
Life throws our way

I can dream endlessly at night
Re-invent the history pages 
Live in a world of fantasy
And hope to stay
Just for a few hours more
