Bitter sweet sentiment

Over the moon I am
Looking forward to the now 
Possibilities present at my feet 
Yet sadden by the guilt 
I must carry 

Choices made by you
Selfish to the bone
Your ideas are grey 
I don’t have the luxury
Nor do I seek it

My strings are attached
To more than one
Heart to heart which binds
Sharing my complete love 
Is truly satisfying

It's a bitter sweet sentiment
The good and the bad
An agreement agreed upon
Who really won?
There was no coin toss

A day closer to celebrate 
My needs and wants are met
The replacement you like 
Will never fill the void
In time to come

If memory serves us well 
It may haunt you closely
By then my life is full
For I have lost nothing
Dearest to me
