In the dark

In the dark
I spend my time
Wondering what life was
Before the crazy

In the dark
My senses extra alert
Noises I cannot hide
Thoughts that are louder

In the dark
Imagination comes alive
Seeing what you want
Dreams offer amusement

In the dark
I'm alone,Sometimes scared
My heart thumping
Exhaustion lingering on

In the dark
Sleep awaits me
Not too far away
Light will touch me again
